Photographic paper is paper specifically designed to print photos.  Photographic paper is coated with photo sensitive chemicals, that will reflect light in certain ways to give you a high quality finish.  In the UK in the past 20 years the development of photos have significantly changed.

With the introduction of digital cameras, rather than going to a photo lab to print your photos people can now print high quality photos from their home.

Depending on the type of printer you have will determine the type of photo paper you use.  You can get photographic paper specifically designed for laser printers or photographic paper designed for inkjet printers.
There are also numerousfinishes of photographic paper to choose from, these would include gloss photo paper, semi glossy photo paper and matt photo paper.

Gloss photographic paper gives the look and feel of professionally photo prints.  The glossy finish is great for reflecting light and works well with the colours giving them a vivid appearance.

Semi gloss
has the same characteristics as a gloss finish however as the name suggests, less glossy and shiny.

Matte
photographic paper does not reflect the light so often this type of finish works better for pictures you intend to frame as there is no reflection of light.   Matte photo finish also works well with black and white photos.

There are a number of photographic paper sizes available, the most popular would be 6 x 4, A4 and A3.

Depending on the print results you need you have numerous different weights to choose from, if you are printing out images on a poster then a light weight photographic paper might suffice however if you want traditional style photographs then you can choose a heavier weight.  The weights we supply are 250-299 gsm, 200-249 gsm, 150-199 gsm, 50-149 gsm, 300 gsm +
