EASY TO FOLLOW - OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS
FOR OLYMPUS DIGITAL VOICE RECORDER MODEL WS852/WS853

1. Insert 2 x AAA batteries (supplied-WS852) – slide off cover
on back of unit ensuring you insert batteries in correct
direction.

2. Insert Micro SD Memory Card into slot on side of unit - it’s
below the On/Off button. Ensure front on memory card is
facing away from you (metal connectors are facing you).

3. Turn on recorder by sliding power switch on side of unit to
the “ON” position.

4. Set Time & Date – following on screen cursor prompts,
pressing ”OK” button to confirm as you go.

5. Mode Select – Choice of Normal & Simple. Choose “Simple
Mode” by pressing + /- key, then press ”OK”.

6. Screen will turn on with prompt to select SD card – Select
YES by pressing “OK” button.

7. Press and hold ”Calendar Button/-Scene” on front of unit
until Rec Scene appears on screen then select “Conference-
(it has picture of teacher at blackboard in-front of pupils at desk”) by
using the +/- button on central control and pressing “OK”
button.

8. You are now ready to begin recording by pressing “REC”
button and “STOP” button after each pupil finishes.

9. The device will automatically start a new file for the next
pupil.
